Robert became a Christian in 2005 in a small church plant in Redlands, Ca. He served as a leader there and met his wife Mallori at that church in 2006. They married in 2007 and have enjoyed many years together with their two children: Owen and Piper. A few years after committing to Christ, they moved to Riverside, Ca where they began attending and serving at Harvest Christian Fellowship. After a few years, Robert became an Intern Pastor there for the college ministry. He served there for four years until God called him to be a part of the planting team for a church in Santa Barbara, Ca. For two years, he volunteered on that planting team to assist the pastor to rebuild a dwindling church, while working as a public school teacher. By God's grace, he witnessed that small church, made up of 12 or so elderly saints, blossom into over a hundred people of all ages. It was a labor of love that taught them much about God and themselves.
Throughout his time serving in different forms of pastoral ministry, God has developed in Robert a deep passion for understanding His Word and leading others into a meaningful and impactful relationship with Him. He’s convinced that the power of the gospel still works, as it always has—through broken people who’ve been transformed by God's grace and who lovingly and imperfectly lead others into this amazing truth. He has a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the California State University of San Bernardino and a master's degree in education from the University of Redlands. He loves reading, writing, and spending time with family, hiking, camping, riding bikes, watching movies, playing board games and video games.
